When it comes to the modern day private establishment of palliative Institutional care centers, the Ripples Home Care center story was reintroduced by White Valley Care Limited (WVC), as the first medical care concepts to focus on chronic and supportive (Palliative Care) with the target of meeting patients in their comfortable setting – office, home etc. WVC was the very first institution to officially register with the Ghana Palliative Care Association as an institutional member in 2020. In a very short time of operation, WVC established six wings of innovative practices that support the chronic care space in Ghana.
In 2022, Nyaho Medical Center also established as an attachment to the Family Medicine Department a palliative care unit with access to admission at their general wards under the leadership of Dr. Ofori Amankwah. The unit had in-house training from the Family Med. Department Palliative Care unit of Korlebu Teaching Hospital.
In 2023, Palliumgeron Caregivers Limited also immerge in GPCA as a home-based care concept which is centered on palliative care. Palliumgeron, together with WVC are the first institutional members to be assigned on pilot basis partnership a task to develop the curriculum National Caregiver Program with TVET Commission of Ghana to ensure a accredited program exist for caregivers (formal and informal), caregivers agencies and management. The assignment also involves the establishment of caregivers institutions across the country to train for market value- Caregivers for Ghana and the Globe.

In February, 2024 Medix Consortium Limited which is the first medical audit firm with Chronic and Palliative Care focus joined the association. Medix is interested and has submitted a proposal to establish a medical/surgical audit system in the chronic and palliative care space when GPCA called for proposals. Medix looks forward to a collaboration to endure this objective under GPCA is successful.
